The Power of Struggle.

All Great Stories Have Struggle

If things were always smooth sailing there would be no story. I would rather work with someone who has struggled along the way, because when a problem arises, they’re willing to get stuck in and get to the end of it.

The Story Is Not The Struggle

Though to struggle and persevere is admirable. The story is not the struggle. It’s a detail in the whole story and you shouldn’t focus on the problem, instead do your best to recognize it for what it is and move to a solution.

I refer to this as not getting stuck in the weeds. We have big ideas, and key points, and things that flow down from that. The main points we move through to the solution are the key, and the small details along the way are the weeds. Do your best to not get caught up in the weeds on your way to resolution.

The Resolution

After overcoming, persevering, however you’d like to refer to it. There’s another side. A beautiful day, the calm after the storm. Oftentimes we can feel overstimulated, overwhelmed, or sometimes we can even feel nothing at all. Do your best to sit with these feelings, to quell the stirrings in your heart and mind to find your peace. I realize that I don’t always talk about the lightest things in life, and that I have a tendency to be pensive. But I truly believe life is best lived in happiness. In sharing smiles and kindness with others. And I hope I can continue to live a life that’s filled with that.

My week has been up and down. Sometimes it feels that I am doing so much, and other times, not enough. I feel a bit numb.

Meanwhile, I hope you’ve been able to have a good time! Haha. Tell me something good that’s happened to you in the comments.

Stay warm.
