The End of The Day.
The end of the day, is truly just the beginning of night. I was thinking, and before all of the lights. Before all the electricity, and cities, and things that polluted our skies — the nights were as beautiful as the days. Humanity would watch galaxies and stars and distant things march across the night sky. Stars would guide sailors. Those who are lost, would look to the night.
Today marks a very special day in the world.
We must be grateful for each day that we are given. And though life may seem small or lonely or full or busy or whatever else, we are part of a community. We are part of a greater whole. So, try not to worry so much about your personal experience. Understand that what you can give in the time that you have is immeasurable.
It is more worth thinking about ideas than sex. It is more worth thinking about the way forward, than to focus on the ways of the past. It is more prudent to understand that in each moment, it is not always so personal. People are often genuinely trying their best, and if you trip up on the details you will miss the big beautiful picture. Life is not so rudimentary for some. But for others, it is. Use the gift of your mind and your consciousness to make life better.
I have an ethos kind of. More of an idea, a generalization that fits in conversation but not so much in context…
“There are those who seek to make the world a better place. And there are those who seek to make the world a better place for themselves.”
I aim to always be among the former, but there is a time and place for the latter.
All this to say, be grateful. Seek to do good things, even if they don’t benefit you or your standing.
It is a beautiful day today, and I hope you enjoy it.
I often think of a quote from Spiderman lately, “By helping someone, you help everyone.”
Today, the day of unlikely victories and of welcoming great things to the world — celebrate, be grateful, and be good to each other.
