The Prognosis of Modern Times.
When I was young, I remember getting this laser tag set. I was so excited about it, I would set it up on the chain link fence and play with it by myself. I never thought about how much playing briefly with my siblings would come to mean to me. The time we were box sledding down the stairs after a move and my little sister flipped feet over head on the way down and landed laughing, barely dodging death or disfigurement. It still makes me laugh to think about to this day.
How close we all were… to end up where we are now. The world has a way of dissecting us. Of dividing us and drawing lines between people that aren’t really there. I think that the world has been obsessed with the physical plane because that is the genesis of our race. That is how we ascended into consciousness. Tools.
But now, with all of our augmented capabilities, we must look to the untouched spiritual plane. We must start to not be afraid to quantify that which we all feel and know to exist, but haven’t named.
I don’t want to play laser tag alone anymore. I have been alone most of my life, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned spending all of that time on the outside looking in, it’s that all of us are connected. All of us are tapped into a sort of common understanding. Some have muted their instincts, but they are still there. Some are a little dramatic, but the message lies underneath.
I don’t believe capitalism is the problem. Some people will work more for others and create things others wouldn’t. That is the purpose. I do believe that allowing for a poor and untended to class is the problem. Our system of filtering people is built upon nepotism and access. Access that is not available to many souls.
Our common problem is reflected in the world. All of the waste we create and leave has been destroying the ecosystem. Garbage patches the size of countries in the ocean. How many human souls have crossed, untapped. Untouched, unloved, and not believed in?
We can do better. We are better. We are the caretakers of our planet. We move the evolutionary needle. We build vast cities, change the running of rivers. We overcome anything and everything. Yet some people are planning their next private jet ride across the world and I see people sleeping in trash bags. Is one person really that much better than the other? Is this too big a problem for humanity to solve? In both cases, the answer is no.
Finland is off to a great start. “Finns believe that a nation can only fulfill its potential if every citizen has the opportunity to fulfill his or her personal potential. That has meant that education should be available to everyone regardless of their gender or socioeconomic background.”
By investing in every citizen and giving them a chance they are not letting gold coins fall. You like money right? Imagine all of the value that a human can give as a gold coin. We want to catch all of the gold coins in our bag as they fall. We have failed our society as people and as individuals. What is required is a shift in consciousness. The fear and anger and violence are the chains that bind us. Imagine if you weren’t afraid of how dirty a homeless person was. Or worried about what kind of person they were to end up like that? Or scared they would commit violence. What kindness could you offer them? What kindness would everyone offer them and how quickly would their state change?
