In The Face of the Uncertain.

What if it all works out?
What if it all blows up in your face?
What if this is the chance you had to take?
What if it was all just a mistake?

All of us will face uncertainty at some point in our lives. Honestly, not even tomorrow is promised to us. But do you want to know what pushes me into that uncertainty with confidence? It is the fact that though we like to think we can see many steps ahead of us, we can each only take one step at a time.

Just like how in multi-tasking, we are never truly doing multiple tasks at once — we are just switching between the tasks very quickly. Sometimes we step quickly, but we are still only able to take one step at a time.

So I slow down, I focus. I look as hard as I can at that step I am about to take, and I take it as best as I can. And then I forget about it. Whether I fell, or placed it perfect or whatever happened. I leave that step behind me and I go again. And again. And again.

Life can be very, very uncertain at times. But we must keep a positive outlook if we would like to see a positive outcome. Things are hard enough, don’t make them harder for yourself.

Head up, believe in yourself, move toward the positive outcome. And hey, if you fall or if you make a mistake, dust yourself off again go again.

For my next trick, I am caught between taking a chance and to be frank — not taking a chance. I feel like a boy again. But perhaps I will buy a ticket to the raffle.

Stay warm.
