You Have A Gift.
Deep Waters
Sometimes, the only way out is through. We have the opportunity to look at our problems in the face. Painfully, at first. It may be so painful that you want to run, but you must not.
Through this process, we are able to look at ourselves objectively. We are able to see where we have failed ourselves and how to move forward. How to heal and not numb. How to stand and fight, when all we want to do is run… Run away with booze, friends, other people. We seek so strongly to take what is on the outside and heal what is on the inside.
But there is far more substance and sustenance found within. Struggle for now, and be stronger because of it.
Our Planet
Jim Rohn once said, “Sometimes no matter what you sow in the spring, sometimes you do not reap in the fall. That is the nature of our planet. Sometimes, you lose.” and I have found this to be comforting in times of hardship.
Faith
There is strength and resilience found in faith that can be found nowhere else. To only call upon God or the gods in times of hardship is selfish.
Look to those achieving great feats of the human body, on the biggest stage. Every time Messi scores a goal, why do you think he points upwards? When a runner crosses the line with arms out and eyes to the heavens, where do you believe they are looking?
I am not yet a servant, nor do I claim to be. I’m just a man who is curious about his beliefs. I’ve studied world religions and found no shoe that fits. I’ve delved to the depths of my mind and my dreams. I’ve spent the better part of a year in silence walking with the energy that pervades the world; with it as my only and best friend. I ask for many things. I give thanks before many meals. I believe there is a power in faith, and that it can be justified in many ways. Logically mapped out or reasoned to be something else, but every man and woman on this earth exercises it at one point or another in their life.
And what other proof is needed? I know it’s not tangible, but it is felt.
This song is a bop.
I hope that your week has been well.
I want to tell you to never give up. To always believe in yourself. You were born with a gift and you were put here to share it. Push forward, it is the only way.
This is my friend Marvin. He’s a model and I’m very early into editing our session, but here are some rough drafts of 2 of the photographs we took.
Stay warm out there.
