There Is A Crack In Everything.
“There is a crack, a crack in everything... That's how the light gets in."
Leonard Cohen
In everything, there is a crack. A beauty in the imperfection. Have you heard of kintsugi? It’s the Japanese art of putting things back together while celebrating their flaws and imperfections. The word Kintsugi means to join with gold. And that is what is done, a broken dish or cup is joined with gold flecked adhesive. See pictures here.
Never, ever give up hope. Always believe in yourself and the things you want. No matter how much the world tells you no, or shows you no… know better for yourself. Not everyone can be rich, or should be rich. But society doesn’t measure how much you give. Only you can see that. So always love yourself and reward yourself on the mental plane.
Did you know that patting yourself on the back releases the same endorphins as someone else doing it for you? At least that’s what I’ve heard haha.
I’m very sick, and holidays are always a weird time for me. You’ll see this picture of a man in my photos from this week… the guy was awesome. He saw me with a camera and struck this funny pose and seeing them back made my day.
There are all of these people with all of these struggles and all of these things that have happened in their lives, and they’re still able to create little magical moments in the world.
It reminded me that I can do that for others as well.
I hope you had a good Thanksgiving, and I hope you’ve been well.
Stay warm.
