Character vs. Reputation.
(Originally written January 15, 2023)
It’s finally here! The day Catharsis comes out. I can’t wait to share it.
Your reputation is how you are perceived, and your character is who you actually are. Do you identify with your reputation? Do you allow people to perceive you and accept that as your perception of self? Or do you hide yourself away and place no importance on how others perceive you, because you know who you are within yourself?
I think that to me, character will always be more important. Character is hard to know though, you have to see past all of the layers and a person’s character can be blocked out if they do not open themselves up.
Character is what I think is important in other people. When it comes to operating myself I think that both reputation and character play an important role. It’s like with art. If you only care about what you think about your art and you believe it to be great based upon nothing, then it will likely not be great. It’s important to take in criticism and to hone your craft based upon how people at large perceive your artwork. On the other hand, if you only care about what people think about your work then you will gain no fulfillment from what you are doing. When you don’t get that feedback you thrive off of it will cause a depression in you, you will ride the highs and lows of people’s opinions on your work.
So a balance is best. It is important to know that your reputation is a reflection of you. It is important to know that regardless of certain outcomes your character is what matters most. Just try your best to be a good human, be honest, and don’t be afraid to open yourself up to someone when they give you the opportunity. It’s hard to know what you’re turning away.
Join me for Catharsis today. I’m releasing it at 10:20 am, my time of birth.
Thanks for reading.
As always,
Stay Warm
