Time.

Never forget the value of time.

One of the first and most important lessons I learned as an adult. Time is always marching forward and oftentimes things get left behind. Every moment cascades into the next. Before we know it we lose that feeling of being present. Always be mindful that when you’re able to bring yourself back to the present, it usually ends well.

In my mind, there are two separate parts of the value of time. The first is the value of a moment. Moments will never happen again, except in your mind’s eye. Be present, so that you can look back happily. Don’t be afraid - you remember your own mistakes much more than other people do.

The second component is the value of lengths of time. Time is the best medicine, physical or emotional. Time is also the best investment. If we want things, we spend time on them. We invest our right now, in order to reach a future we see.

So enjoy your time, and put some thought into how you’re using it. How much can appreciate what is right in front of you? What is it that you see in your future?

Where the waves crash serenely against the sands of time, our deeds are erased — but not gone.

Stay warm.
